And we’re off again!

So the countdown finally reached zero. I was well and truly ready, having decided a few weeks ago that I would leave my current job prior to going on holidays. This meant that my lead-up week was fairly quiet except for some farewell social events with my former valued colleagues. Deb, on the other hand, had a busy week, trying to either get stuff finished or get it into a state to be handed over to others. This kept her busy well into the evening last night, leaving very little time for preparation. I guess it’s lucky that we are quite adept at ‘quick’ packing.

Anyway, tonight’s blog comes to you from New Delhi fresh from our recent arrival. I haven’t had the opportunity to take photos, so there aren’t any included in tonight’s edition. Nonetheless, we’ve arrived and there will be many photos to come over the next few weeks.

We were up early this morning, not just because we were excited about the coming trip, but we also had a few things to do, prior to leaving. Things like feeding cats, making beds and preparing the house for our life saving cat-sitter. I did discover that there were no UBER drivers available at 6 AM, so had to revert to an old-fashion taxi to the airport. Our departing flight was delayed because someone had a stroke on the incoming flight and it took a while for the emergency services to deal with that. Again, no great inconvenience… it just compressed the layover time in Singapore. By the time we caught the T3 train and bought some duty-free goodies, it was time to board.

We managed to take in some movies on the way up here. I watched Eddie the Eagle, Eye in theSky and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies while Deb watched Me Before You, Love and Friendship and The Man Who Knew Infinity. On both sectors we were in close proximity to young families travelling and I must say that it takes more patience than I possess!

We’ve got a busy day planned tomorrow, sightseeing around Delhi, so I’ll sign out for tonight and get some real sleep!

Until tomorrow!

  1. And in comparison, Chopper and I are sitting in our jimjams by the gas heater, with no power and gale force winds outside. Yay the weekend. Not.

    Jealous much? Xxx
