Follow this trip that starts in The Netherlands following the great rivers of Central Europe through Germany, Austria finishing in the Budapest. We round out this trip with a week in Prague the capital of the Czech Republic

About me

I am Rob, a Brisbane-based traveller, writer and photographer. I spend most of my working life planning for the next holiday, those trips that ‘beat working’. My travels are that opportunity for seeing the world through my eyes.

This site started as a way to document my journeys for family and friends, without subjecting them to those dreadful photo nights. It lets everyone just consume as much as they want to whether it’s photos, the journals or my reflections.

Most of the trips are longer journeys to fit in with the the workload from the real job that supports the holiday habit. I travel exclusively with my wife we share a love of discovering of blending in to new cities and capturing streetscapes, experiencing the food and wine and capturing local wildlife. We prefer to travel in comfort and leave the camping to the younger folks.

I hope you enjoy the blog and hope I can inspire your trips, while providing an honest account of our travels, so as not to set unrealistic expectations.
