We had a lot of nautical miles to cover today, so it was a full day at sea. We woke up to the boat rocking and rolling to 3-4 metre waves, as we headed out to sea a bit, so we could ‘discharge’ in such a way that complied with Canadian Government rules. Later today the ship will meet up with the Canadian (sea) Pilot who will steer the ship between Vancouver Island and the mainland into the Vancouver port, which looks a little tricky on google maps.

We lost an hour overnight as we entered Canadian waters again and went back onto the Pacific time zone so we had a bit of a lie in. I had another involuntary walk around the shower and took an anti-nausea pill to be ready to take on the day. We had a snack breakfast because I knew we wouldn’t be doing that much today and we had a nice dinner planned. We spent the morning hanging out with our new friends that we’d met and shared experiences with on the cruise. I think one of the nice things about cruising is that you can choose to spend as much or as little time with fellow passengers. We really enjoyed the company of this group though.

We had lunch at Prime 7 where I had a clam chowder for starter and some pork ribs for a main. Deb had a goat cheese panna cotta for a starter and a chicken quesadilla for main. We then shared a dessert platter to finish.

In the afternoon they serve tea and scones and we’ve made it a precursor for the ‘friendly’ trivia competition, which is quite competitive. Our team’s 9/15 was not competitive. A couple more drinks and then we came back to the cabin to start packing for disembarkation tomorrow.
Dinner was at Chartreuse tonight, the French themed restaurant. I had a cheese souffle, mushroom soup and a beef tenderlion, while Deb stuck with the small plates – Salmon blinis, cheese souffle and crab rolls.

For dessert I had creme brulee and Deb had strawberry dusted meringue. The food was amazing again and it was a great way to sign off on the cruising component of our trip.

We are all packed up ready for a couple of days in Vancouver before the long trip home.
Until tomorrow!
