Our final stop on this trip is San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. We don’t have many plans while we are here except tho relax for a day and spend a day resting up for the trip home as well as taking a look around the city on Saturday. As a result the next couple of blogs will be pretty short. We are staying at the Marriott, which is a resort style hotel with a definite colonial feel. I stayed here when I came to work here about 5 years ago and was really impressed.
We were left Monteverde around 8 this morning and were expecting a 3 or 4 hour drive once we hit the San Jose traffic, but it only took a around 2.5 hours. The roads off the mountains was still pretty rough, but was much better that the road in from Lake Arenal. Once you get down from the mountains the road then joins the national highway and is very impressive. Once we arrived we took a walk around the property to get our bearings and as the afternoon storms rolled in we settled for coffee and cake and watched the world go by.
Tonight we thought we’d try the Peruvian themed restaurant. It is all very busy here with some conference going on, so we were also served with some great people watching. The meal itself was very good.
Until tomorrow!
