Our day began with the realisation that of all the printed materials we had for transport, accommodation and touristy things… there was one missing… on of our train tickets in Italy. So… without being too ‘judgy’ I figured that we should fix the situation rather than be on a train without a valid ticket. I thought this would be easy… go to a hotel… use their internet.. print out the ticket sounds easy right… We went for breakfast and then to the Le Meridian Hotel … paid 7.5 Euros for the internet … then proceeded to get the password wrong enough times … that Deb’s email no longer worked. Good news was that I had a copy of the ticket on my USB hard disk… Went back to the apartment and got it… The hotel doesn’t allow USB devices even on the guest internet … went back to the room tried to email the file to the hotel so they could print it for us and also copied it to Google Drive … The hotel never receive the email??? I pay another 7.5 Euros … log on to google drive … and print the offending ticket… by now it is 11 o’clock… time to go back to Plan A and catch the bus to Monaco…

The bus trip takes about 45 minutes and take the route along the coast which includes some stunning views. Once at Monaco we had some lunch in front of the boat harbour (pictured above) and watched some beautiful people walk by… of which there was an ample supply. Following lunch we walked around the harbour and up the the Monte Carlo Casino. You can’t take any photos inside but its decor is truly stunning.
Here’s us …

Following that we caught the ‘Bateau Bus’ … which is a solar powered boat … across the harbour to visit the Cathedral and Prince Albert’s Palace which are in the older part of the city. There are also many other beautiful buildings on the walk and stunning views of the city. Unfortunately, the wi-fi in the apartment is being difficult … so I’ll post some more of those pictures tomorrow night.
Eventually, we found the bus to return to Nice… but were both feeling rather tired… so it was a quick stop at the Boulangerie to buy dessert and the wine shop for some cold champagne and back to the apartment for dinner… ready for a day of travelling tomorrow… but at least we have the train tickets!
Until tomorrow
Rob
