So this morning it was up and about to fill the pantry with some local goodies now that we are in the apartment. I found the local Chacuterie, Fromagerie, boulangerie and of course the wine shop. Of course some of these don’t open until 10 o’clock … so the supermarket is a good fall-back. Anyway… we were able to buy some Foie Gras, a pork terrine, croissants, chocolate au pan, some yummy cheeses and some desserts… as per below….
Shopping done… it was back on the excellent metro to the Musee D’orsay. They have a great collection of the impressionists… Monet, Manet, Gaugin and Degas as well as a lot of 19th century sculptures. I probably enjoyed this on more than the Lourve, but probably only because it was a smaller collection and I knew when to start and finish. Anyway … a great space…

After lunch … we rejoined the Metro… to get to the Eiffel Tower. I thought I’d take a photo on the one occasion we actually have had to wait for a train … and got a pretty funky photo…

So anyone who knows me knows that I’m not that good with heights… and that the people in my life like to test my tolerance. Amy and Jess made me do the Story Bridge climb a few years ago… and this trip Deb organised for us to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. In hindsight … great idea… while going to the ‘Summit’ in the lift… I wasn’t so sure. Great views… and highly recommended
Looking up from the second level…

One of views from up high…

How about a little proof

We finished the day out with a sightseeing cruise on the river … great to get off our feet and watch the world go by. Home time on the Metro again… and dinner with all the goodies purchased in the morning!
Until tomorrow…
Rob
